Any kind of tension in the face or head is to be avoided and if you see any lights or forms just accept that and don’t try to stop it or pay any particular attention to it either. Remember that concentration meditation should be pleasant or at least neutral
This rare meditation from a little known corner of Thailand has a brilliant balance of elements in it and is highly conducive to concentration. It definitely requires the tranquil effort rule though, so no straining!
The main object is a relaxed inner gaze toward the forehead between and slightly above the eyebrows. Better to not associate this with chakra theories. Simply just be receptive and watchful, not firing a laser beam of focus at it but just opening to this screen. Just watch.
Meanwhile, in the background there is a mild breath meditation, but it is not feeling the breath. It’s just knowing. Just knowing whether the breath is going in, or going out. The contact at the nostrils could be one information station, or it could be the lower abdomen. To signify your knowing you use a kind of mantra, which could be “in, out” “peace, ease” or anything really, including the Thai traditional “Bud-” “-dho”
