To Whom is Everything Happening?
This Challenge is a great chance to take some different words for inquiry and use them to point and explore the Self that you are.
Bring in about 5 minutes of silent sitting before or after, and settle in the presence that you are.
Everything that is true, is true now.
You are not going to get to it, you are that now.
Let's get in a short period of resting in the confidence and safety of that, every day of the challenge.
And if a little joy peeks out, no problem!
Let's Contemplate!
In this challenge let's practice the art of self-inquiry so that we clear up any loose ends of confusion we may have, and so we have it at our fingertips.
Though we might contribute a seeking energy to self-inquiry, there are no answers exactly to the looking questions of self-inquiry. The questions are provocations to look. And all questions are basically the same look, and so all questions are basically the same, though we can word them differently.
The wordlessness of the look is important. Just like you can ask the question-- "What sensations are in the palm of my hand?" The answer is the actual sensations, not any words that describe them. So too, the answer to the question "What Am I?" is not a belief or a thought or a word-- it's You!
Each day's Self Inquiry Contemplation will roll out on a day-to-day basis. Each one is not so much a meditation as an interactive lesson, where something is pointed to and you check it out.
-- Along with each interactive lesson, you should do about 5 minutes of untimed silent sitting, before or after (or do your favorite guided meditations). The time is just a guideline though. It really means just sit quietly and abide in your sense of presence, perhaps adding some energy of inquiry here and there along the way. Don't try to make it a long sitting, and just stop when you feel like it. --
So just press play, then report in The Hearth that you did it, and include your questions and observations in your report if you have any.
