In this contemplation we are tapping into the good feelings we can produce with proper attention, or into the good feelings we can notice are already there, or both.
Also we might find that simply putting everything aside momentarily opens up feelings of lightness and joy.
Whatever is the proximate cause, or no cause, we’re not concerned with that here.
Instead, we take the inner look of self-nquiry to find the source of any and all joy we may feel, produce, or find.
Look past the feeling, and into it’s source. Where is the joy actually coming from?
Let whatever feelings arise with that as they will, but look deeper and past them into their source.
This is another way to understand the direction of the look of self-inquiry.
You may now also understand why pushing away good feelings and being neutral is an imperfect meditation instruction.
Instead, look deeper. And let what comes, come. You can still look into it’s source, whatever it is, it’s the same source.
In your untimed silent sitting, you might also simply sit, be happy in whatever way you feel or find, and then make the gentle inward look, what is the source of the joy of Life?
Look straight into the source in you
what is the energetic expression, in the world of form, of your most intimate I?
